Not confirmed information! | |  | | Description: | | A power outage left thousands of homes and businesses without electricity this afternoon in Pacific Beach, Bay Park, Clairemont, Linda Vista, Mission Valley and the Morena district. The blackout began shortly before 2 p.m., initially affecting nearly 4,200 addresses - instead of the 8,000 originally reported - according to San Diego Gas and Electric. As of 4:30 p.m., service had been restored to all but 951 customers, the utility reported. Those addresses were expected to have electricity again no later than 6 a.m. Friday, SDG and E advised. The cause of the problem was unclear, though a fire on a utility pole and a downed power line were reported in the area of Frankfort and Napier streets, just east of Mission Bay, at about the time the outage began, according to San Diego police.
