Description: Gulfport Police have now closed a portion on Highway 90 at Maria Avenue, due to flooding. Water covers yards along Dedeaux Road. Some of that water has seeped into homes. People say they're trapped. And because so much of Gulfport is inundated, barricading flooded streets isn't possible. That's the current situation in Mississippi's second largest city, where a series of strong thunderstorms has flooded the community. The National Weather Service now calls this weather event a flash flood emergency.
